The Council to Homeless Persons is running a full-day training session on the NDIS in Bendigo at Haven on Thursday 31 October from 9:30-3:30.
Lunch is included in the $100 cost to attend. The details of the course are included below, please circulate to any staff who you think might be interested.
Please encourage people to register by Friday 25 October so we can ensure we have sufficient numbers to run the session.
The NDIS for housing & homelessness workers
Combining sessions on NDIS access and funding for tenancy supports, this full day course provides an overview of both the access and planning processes of the NDIS.
Designed to assist workers in assessing if their clients are eligible for an NDIS package, types of supports that might be funded by the NDIS, and how clients can be assisted to get tenancy supports in their NDIS package.
Participants will discuss the role of the community housing and homelessness workers in different contexts and get an overview of other support and service providers available to assist clients in preparing an application for NDIS funding.
They will practice writing a letter of support for an NDIS planning or review meeting, and discuss the language to use in writing to the NDIS about tenant support needs.
