More Housing Support For Homeless In Mildura

More people experiencing homelessness in Mildura will have a roof over their heads thanks to funding from the Andrews Labor Government. Construction has begun on two three-bedroom homes in Mildura, to be ready for tenants early in 2020. These are funded through the Labor Government’s $27 million Accommodation for Homeless program.

In the past six years across Australia, the number of people on Newstart payments seeking assistance from homelessness services increased by 75%, according to a new analysis by Homelessness Australia. This has easily outpaced the growth in the number of people receiving Newstart, which rose by 28% over the same period.
