What is the survey about? The survey is about how the community sector is faring in 2019, and what is needed to improve capacity and impact. All staff in community sector organisations in Australia are invited to participate.

What questions are asked? Questions are about the work you do, levels of need in the community, and what would strengthen the sector.  It takes around 10 -15 minutes for most people to complete but may take a little longer for CEOs and senior managers, who will be asked some extra questions about their organisations.

Who is conducting the survey? The study has been commissioned by the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) on behalf of the COSS Network, with support from Community Sector Banking. The research team is Dr Natasha Cortis and Dr Megan Blaxland from the Social Policy Research Centre at UNSW.

Do I have to do it?  Participation is voluntary. Most questions can be skipped, and you can stop participating at any time.  If you participate, at the end of the survey you will be given the option to go into a prize draw to win one of six prizes. These prizes are an iPad (32GB wifi + cellular) and one of five $50 shopping vouchers, as a token of our appreciation.

When will it close? The survey has been extended to Friday 1st November 2019.

What happens to information I provide? Responses will be stored securely and confidentially on a UNSW host server. In any publication or presentation, information will be provided in an aggregated way, so that neither you nor your organisation will be individually identifiable. Information may be made available for other research in deidentified form only.
