Victorian Housing Register Update- Increase in asset limits for eligible applicants

DHHS have advised that the Victorian Housing Register Supported Housing Operational Guidelines have been updated to reflect the higher asset limit that may be applied to eligible Supported Housing applicants who can demonstrate significant personal support needs, exempting households with significant personal support needs from the priority access limit, and instead enabling them to be assessed against the register of interest asset limit of $31,520.

The agency submitting the application on the household’s behalf needs to confirm that the household is at a significant disadvantage in the private rental market, their cash reserves cannot, or will not, materially improve their prospects of securing private rental housing, and social housing is the only viable long-term housing option for them.
