The National Survey offers children and young people with a care experience the opportunity to share with CREATE, their experiences living in the care system.
It has now been five years since CREATE’s Report Card ‘Experiencing Out-of-Home Care in Australia: The views of children and young people‘ (McDowall, 2013). This report has been fundamental in promoting the views of children and young people in care and provided a benchmark for performance against the National Standards for Out-of-Home Care (2011), a Priority Project under the National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children 2009-2020.
So, what to do?
If you have a client who is:
- Between the ages of 8-17 and currently living in out-of-home care for at least six months or,
- Between the ages of 18-25 and previously had a care experience of at least six months and,
- Keen to share thoughts on the care experience in order to promote the opinions of children and young people?
Support or encourage them to complete the survey.
Step 1: They will need to follow the link provided here to consent! If they are under 18, they will need their carer to provide consent for them to complete the survey at the link above.
Step 2: Once consent has been provided, a link to the survey will be sent to their email within two days, so keep an eye out!
