What the NCAS is, how it’s useful and what’s to come

March 7 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Free

In the lead-up to International Women’s Day, ANROWS (with the support of VicHealth) will be hosting our first webinar on the National Communality Attitudes towards Violence Against Women Survey, or the NCAS.

This webinar will interest those working in the prevention of violence against women in a range of settings, from policy and practice to education and advocacy. If you’ve ever found it difficult to find the evidence you need to challenge commonly held myths around violence against women or explain the link between violence against women and gender inequality, this webinar will help.

‘What the NCAS is, how it’s useful, and what’s to come’’ will provide an overview of the NCAS and findings from 2013, discuss how the survey can be useful in your work through practical examples, and offer information about the exciting changes and new components of the next NCAS (to be released late 2018/early 2019). There will also be a Q&A session at the end of the webinar.

Presenters

  • Kristin Diemer, The University of Melbourne
  • Kellie Nagle, Policy Adviser, Preventing Violence Against Women, Municipal Association of Victoria
  • Violeta Marticorena Politoff, Senior Research Officer (NCAS), ANROWS
  • Natalie Russell, Principal Program Officer, VicHealth

This webinar is an opportunity to (re)familiarise yourself with the NCAS, find ways it can be applied to your work, and begin considering how the next wave of NCAS will further support what you do.
