AHURI Report Released- ‘Paying for Affordable Housing in Different Market Contexts’

This inquiry in to increasing affordable housing supply, ‘Paying for Affordable Housing in Different Market Contexts’ analyses six recently completed affordable housing developments across Australia to ascertain how affordable housing project costs, revenues and subsidies interact to produce affordable housing.

The findings indicate that affordable housing project outcomes in these instances were driven by funding opportunities, rather than by defined housing needs, and the report has drawn six key lessons from the research for policy makers and practitioners.
